The new issue of Knitty (Fall 2009) is up and that means that I can finally, finally, finally reveal that my pattern, Margot, is in the issue! This is my first time going through the whole process, and I can tell you that I’m ecstatic to finally be able to share!
Let me tell you about Margot – she’s a classic boatneck pullover, knit seamlessly from the top down. The body of the sweater is simple stockinette, with a garter stitch neckline, cuffs and waistband. Slight waist shaping and bracelet length sleeves with vents at the wrists give the sweater femininity, and the boatneck collar offers a flattering neckline.
Margot was conceived as a simple sweater that you’d want to wear over and over again, and the top down design allows you to try on the in-progress piece to make sure you get the best fit.
I hope you like knitting and wearing her as much as I did/do!
Happy knitting!

I love Margot! I can’t wait ’till it’s on Ravelry so I can add it to my queue!!
I love this sweater so much. It’s exactly my style. Hope you keep designing new patterns!
Bonjour,
I love your sweater Margot. Designed for me !!! As soon as I’ve found the yarn, it will be done and worn by a Parisian girl … In French, we call that shape a “marinière” since it is inspired by the sailors’ garments.
I love the simplicity of this, perfect design for a great yarn. I have it in my queue, ready to go when I find the right yarn. Thank you!
I love this sweater! It was one of the ones I knew I was going to have to knit from the new knitty. The simple shape is so perfect :)
I think I will re-knit this sweater (http://goosefairy.blogspot.com/2007/06/pictures-we-got-your-pictures-right.html) using your pattern. When I finally got it finished the raglan increases were done so very wrong that the sweater is unwearable! Now it looks like I’ll be able to rescue it :) Thank you thank you thank you!
This sweater is gorgeous. I will be making it for myself come spring. I think you’re a wonderful designer and will be following you more closely. (Just wondering – what are you getting your PhD in? I’m working on my Master’s in Soc.)
Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate encouragement to continue designing! : ) To answer your question, I’m getting my PhD in Bioengineering. I hope that your Master’s is going well – I’ve always thought Sociology is very interesting!
I am currently making this sweater. It’s my first major project with only two scarves under my belt. I am having a wonderful time and loving seeing it grow and look more and more like something!!!
Thanks for the wonderful pattern with your great instructions and photographs. I found it on Knitty and then found you!
Cheers!
